A Personal Growth & Development Plan:
Here at Transform Emotions, we are going to talk a lot about potential, personal growth, and development! So, what does this mean, exactly? The main thing that it means is that we are going to talk about ways to improve any and all areas of our lives, such as physical health, mental health, emotional health, financial health, spiritual health and any other ways that we can enhance our quality of life as individuals and the world in general. Below is a summary of a few things we will talk about here.
Developing Talents & Personal Skills:
Anything that I can find that will be helpful in this area, I will definitely share here. Probably one of the most important factors that would contribute to this topic would be developing a level of self-confidence to carry through. Some other ideas would be learning to manage time and stress in ways that will allow us the opportunity to develop talents and skills and reach our full potential. We will also talk about gaining knowledge to further develop talents and skills.
Improving Financial Health and Wealth:
This topic will also be discussed here at Transform Emotions, but especially the topic of living out our passions and purpose, using our talents and skills to make the world a better place and make a living doing it. This can be done online or offline, but here, you will find a lot of information about building a business around your interests and your purpose.
Improving Spiritual Health:
Because this can be a very controversial topic, at Transform Emotions we have an open mind about respecting individual preferences on this topic. However, what we will be talking about are scientific studies, research, and theories about the beneficial effects that prayer and faith have on physical and emotional health. Faith and prayer and can be either healthy or unhealthy. Naturally, we will be focusing on what makes them both healthy!
Improving Mental Health:
Here, we will be talking about lots and lots of theories and much research concerning the development of healthy thought processes. We will be referring to a lot of psychological theories and theorists, some scientific studies, inspirational and encouraging ideas, and concepts. The ultimate goal is to learn to think thoughts that make you feel better and reach higher levels of personal growth in all areas of your life.
Improving Emotional Health:
This one is HUGE and will be a major topic here at Transform Emotions. Your emotions are tied to every aspect of your life, whether you realize it or not. The goal is to learn to manage, cope with or eliminate emotions that feel BAD and replace them with emotions that make you feel GOOD. We will be talking about how to manage stress, how to better cope, how to feel more confident, how to feel more peaceful, how to feel more fulfilled, safe, secure, etc.
Improving Physical Health:
Here, we will be talking a lot about how to think the thoughts that trigger the emotions that stimulate your immune system and hormonal system. We will be talking about how to better manage fight or flight, pain management, grief management, and how to be open-minded about tapping into other potentials of reality where we can experience optimal health. We will tie in healthy nutrition, vitamins and supplements, healthy sleep, and moderate exercise.
Alternative Healing Methods:
In this section, we will be talking about the positive effects of prayer, faith, music, singing, dancing, writing, pets, meditation, improving belief systems, massage therapy, energy healing, acupuncture, EFT, and basically any other methods that appear promising in the promotion of healing emotionally or physically. This site is very much about healing so many topics that are interesting or helpful will probably find their way to this site!
Finding Purpose and Passion:
We are going to talk about this a lot here also. We will investigate ways that we can figure out what areas of our life that we have the greatest interest in, as well as complementary to our talents and skills. We are going to look for a deeper meaning for our mistakes, our problems, and what purpose we can fulfill that will help ourselves, our families, our friends, our community and beyond.
Finding purpose and passion is never just about the self. It is always about extending beyond the self to help and serve others. Also, to always think about other generations such as the elderly and the younger generation coming up behind us. A major focus here at Transform Emotions is looking for ways to leave the world a better place for future generations.
Stress Management:
Every single person on the face of this earth is under stress at one time or another. Obviously, some of us are under more stress than others, and all of us are under more stress at certain times of our lives than others. Although we are going to talk about daily stresses, workplace stresses, family stresses, crises, traumas, financial stressors, health stressors, etc., the main focus will be on what we can do about these things. How we can manage them, cope with them, eliminate them and find meaning in these areas.
Improving Habits:
There will be a great deal of talk on this site about the unconscious habits and programs that we have, which ones are serving us and which ones are not serving us and how to change the ones that do not serve us. We will talk a lot about addictions, but with a certain level of understanding and compassion. This is a HUGE problem in this world today. We will be researching and studying possible solutions.
Addictions are, without a doubt, the most difficult habits to break. People develop addictions for a lot of different reasons and (in my opinion) addiction is one of the worst problems we face in this world today. This is not about passing judgment, it is about figuring out ways to eliminate the suffering of those who are imprisoned by addiction, as well as those living with people who are entrapped by addiction.
Psychology Theories and Research:
This site will talk a LOT about psychology theories and research. This is my major! We will look at a lot of different theories, theorists and we will break down and talk about the contributions of each. In Psychology 101, I learned a term that has stuck with me ever since and that word was, “eclectic.”
I can remember my teacher going over the main branches of psychology and I remember thinking, “but they all have something to offer.” And then she said that people who like to make use of ALL the theories are called, “Eclectic.” And I thought, “That’s me! I’m eclectic!” In other words, I look at psychological theories like pieces of a puzzle and I believe that they all made important contributions to the world.
Scientific Theories:
I love science and this is an area of great interest to me. At the same time, I discovered in my studies that scientists don’t always agree with each other and in fact, they often have some heated debates on their interpretations of the “evidence.” Not all scientists interpret things the same way, and even though I am not a scientist, I have studied it a lot, and I am no exception.
Nobody who studies science (or psychology) can form an opinion and please everyone. It’s just not possible because there are too many opposing viewpoints. I will talk here about theories and scientists that I find interesting and tend to agree with, but not everyone will agree with them or me. That’s just the way it is.
Some of them are dead-set against having a belief in a Higher Intelligence or the Intelligent Design of the Universe. I am not one of those people. This site may not be the place for someone who is bothered by that because there will likely be some discussion about that here on this site.
Family Health and Topics:
There may occasionally be articles here related to family, raising a family and specifically geared towards children and anything that would be considered to the benefit of children. As I have mentioned elsewhere on this site already, one of the themes here is finding ways to make the world a better place for future generations. This will all tie in together.
This site will forever be a work in progress for as long as I am healthy enough to maintain it. I have studied these topics my entire life, so I am really excited about organizing all of that info into one place! These are just some basic ideas to start with on the direction this website will take.
